John T Furtado
Director Media, and Co Dir Mens Ministry
Where I am from:
Originally from “Eastie” East Boston, Mass. (32yrs), I spent a few years in the Acton/Maynard area and have lived in Newton, NH since 1995.
I have been blessed to work for Raytheon Co. in various locations and positions since 1977 (HVAC/R technician since 1989), and it has been my pleasure to work in the area of men’s ministry since 1999. I've also worked with several men’s equipping conferences in various positions.
How long have you been at CCF:
My family and I have been with CCF since 2005.
Tell me about your family:
My bride and best friend Sandra and I were married in a small chapel in Concord, Mass. on Oct.5 1990. We have 2 of the most amazing children ever to walk the face of this earth; Jessica and Matthew (yes, I am biased, I’m their dad I’m allowed).
The people I get to work with at CCF and Somebody Cares, the level of dedication, commitment and caring of these individuals and teams is nothing short of amazing! To actually name names would fill volumes. I have been privileged to meet so many champions for Christ whom put feet to the Gospel everyday.
Favorite thing about Community Christian Fellowship Haverhill:
No pretense, it is REAL, consistent, caring and just plain fun!
Spending time alone with our Lord cruising the backroads of NH on my motorcycle! And there just may be some seriously loud worship and praise music involved. Loving God, loving my family, loving life.
Most ethnic foods, I love to try new things and I love “BBQ” gimmie some brisket, ribs a little cornbread and some homemade beans and you will hear the choir of my heart singing!
Rocking Praise music in its many forms, Blues, Classical! There is lots of other stuff as well but gimmie some rockin' praise music and my motorcycle and I am goooooonnnnnneee!
I’m not a movie buff but I’ll give you a few that stick out in my mind, Facing the Giants, Courageous, and War Room.
“You’re never too old to become what you might have been” George Eliot (you can teach an old dog new tricks) If He (God) did it for me (and He did) He will do it for you!
There is one book that should go without saying so I won’t. I very much enjoyed the Mentoring Men series by Dr. Ed Cole, most anything by Stu Webber and Steve Farrar, I love Francis Chan, Derek Prince, and John Bevere, I enjoyed the Left Behind series…………… and the list goes on.
